How to Satisfy the Whole Family With Your Choice of Bathroom Mirror

Posted on

People come in all shapes and sizes, and your family is probably no different. This can present a challenge when you're trying to kit out your home with everyday essentials appropriate to the size of each individual. You may be redesigning your bathroom and find that the project is on hold because you're talking about where to place a new bathroom mirror. Where should you put this, so that everybody is happy in the future?

What to Consider

First, you need to decide what type of bathroom mirror you are going to use. The size or configuration of the room may dictate your choice, as you may not have a free wall to work with. You may find that you can only place it above an existing sink, so in this case you need to think about position, balance and symmetry.

Creating Balance

Look at the space between the top of the sink and the bottom of the ceiling. In an ideal world, you should position the mirror so that it is equidistant between those two points as this will look better and contribute to the overall style of the room.

Careful Positioning

However, if you have a great deal of space and may have a lofted ceiling in the bathroom, then you can afford to move the mirror location to take into account the size of your family group. If you have young children on the one end of the scale and a very tall father on the other, try to take an average of their combined height. Position the mirror so that its centre is in line with the average eyelevel of your family, if possible and this will give you the best compromise.

Full-Length

If you do have a spare wall, then it's a good idea to install a full-length mirror. Position this as close to the skirting board at the bottom of the wall as you can, but always leave some space in between these two objects, once again for symmetry. Now, you should be able to satisfy every member of the family who will appear in perfect frame every time they use it.

Creating More Space

A full-length mirror is a great choice as it will help to create the illusion of space. You can transform a smaller room into something that appears to be much larger, by strategically placing it on your free wall.

Finding Your Solution

Don't forget, you can choose from a broad range of styles and shapes that can fit any bathroom. Just discuss your detailed requirements with your supplier.
